The annual Toronto Greek Independence Day Parade began at 1:00 pm on Sunday, March 28, 2011. This year celebrates 186 years of freedom from foreign rule.
This is the first time that the Tian Guo Marching Band participated. Prior to the march, one of the event organizers spoke with a band member and said he was really happy to see the band. He stated that the Chinese and Greek people are similar because they both have ancient cultures.
The organizer arranged for The Tian Guo Marching Band to play in front of the VIP stage continuously for 30 minutes until the end of the parade. He greatly appreciated the band's participation.
