Barrie's Annual Caribbean Festival took place from August 15-17, 2008. (http://www.caribfest.ca)

The Caribbean Costume Parade started at Queen's Park in Barrie at 2:00 P.M. on Saturday, August 16, 2008 and ended on the waterfront in Centennial Park. 

This is the first year that The Tian Guo Marching Band was invited to attend the parade. It was a beautiful, sunny day and many onlookers applauded the band as they made their way to the fairgrounds on the Lakeshore. Upon arriving at the waterfront, the excited crowds gave the band a hearty welcome. At one point during the march, percussion was doing a solo performance and an eager bystander said to the drum major, "Let the band play!"
