Calgary Stampede Parade, Calgary, July 09, 2008

2010 Calgary Stampede Parade was held in Calgary on Friday, July 9, 2010 at 9 a.m .(http://calgarystampede.com/about/events/attending.html)

The Parade route starts at Macleod Trail and 6th Avenue S.E. and moves West to 10th Street, S.W.
Along 10th Street to 9th Avenue, and finally East to 4th Street, S.E. The Parade takes approximately 2 hours to pass by any one point along the route. 150 entries from across North America, Europe and Australia participated in the parade.

Calgary Stampede Parade is considered the largest parade in westtern Canada and one of the largest parades in North America. About 400,000 viewers from around the world watched the parade.

Special guests who participated in the parade this year were Olympic gold medalists Scott Moir
and Tessa Virtue as well as other medalists from the Calgary area.

This was the 2nd consecutive year that the Tian Guo Marching Band has participated in the Stampede Parade

In a rally on July 10 at the Calgary Chinese Cultural Centre, The Honourable Jason Kenney, federal Minister of Citizenship, Immigration, and Multiculturalism, thanked the Falun Dafa Association for "this magnificent contribution to our Calgary Stampede celebration".

"I know that you bring a great deal of colour and enthusiasm to our Stampede celebratio and that is appreciated by all Calgarians.", he said.

Also in the same Rally, David Swann, Leader of the Opposition in an interview with The Epoch Times, said he sees the Tian Guo band as a very high quality band? that lifts the spirits of the audience with their performance.

Going deeper than just playing music, Mr. Swann said the band touched many hearts and minds with their
deeper message around the right of everyone, the truth, compassion, how we honour that in Canada, and they should begin to honour that in China.
