Weston (Toronto) Santa Claus Parade November 25 2007

On November 25, 2007, the Weston Santa Claus Parade kicked off the holiday season in Weston. Organized and run by the Weston Village BIA, the Parade is a true community event bringing out individuals, schools, churches and service organizations that either enters floats, walk in the parade or volunteer to work behind the scenes. The Parade started at Weston Road beginning at Church Street and ended at St. Phillips Road.

The Tian Guo Marching Band was invited to the parade together with 57 other entries, including 9 bands and 10 floats. The MP of Weston Village, Mr. Alan Tonks and MPP Mrs. Laura Albanese participated in the parade. Today is the 11th parade that the Tian Guo Band has participated in within these 2 weekends.

Mr. Albert Armstrong, resident of Weston for 49 years said to the reporter that today almost everybody in this town came out to celebrate Christmas. This is his 26th year to participate in the Santa Claus Parade. He was surprised to see that the Chinese Tian Guo Band is so magnificent and he is expecting that the band will return to Weston Village.

Mrs. Rosanna Foti, resident of Weston for 20 years, said that she has joined this Santa Claus parade for 4 years. She is so happy to see that in this multi-cultural city, people are able to see many cultural performances, especially the Chinese Lion Dance during this year's parade.

Mr. Damian Weston, one of the organizer's of the Weston Village Santa Clause Parade, said that one of the board members saw The Tian Guo Band perform at Octoberfest in Kitchener. He was so impressed that he highly recommended the Band to perform at the Weston Village Santa Clause Parade. He was pleased to see the praise that the band received at the parade and hopes they will return next year.
