Hamilton Mardi Gras Carnival, August 11, 2007

Hamilton Mardigras Carnival (http://www.hamiltoncarnival.com/)2007 was held on August 11. This is the 6th Annual Hamilton Mardigras Carnival. The birth of Hamilton Mardigras Carnival was in 2001. The purpose of the Mardi Gras Carnival is to promote awareness of the diverse local cultures. While the celebration is a Caribbean tradition, the Hamilton Mardi Gras embraces and encourages other ethnic communities to participate.

This is the 6th year for the Hamilton celebration. It includes a street party, entertainment including live bands with steel drums and calypso, the work of local and ethnic artisans, a wide variety of food, and a parade.

The Tian Guo Marching Band was invited to lead the parade for the second year in a row. Organizers, V.I.P.S, spectators and parade participants praised the members.

Some of the audience quotes include, "I think it's wonderful that the Chinese marching band is involved", "It's beautiful. I want to know more about this", "Percussion was really awesome and Falun Dafa lead the parade and I love to see them".
