Toronto St. Patrick Day Parade, March 18, 2007

The 2007 Toronto St. Patrick's Day Parade was held on Sunday, March 18.

This is the first time that the Tian Guo Marching Band participated in Toronto St. Patrick Day parade--one of the 3 largest parades held in Toronto.

The Parade began at noon with the procession starting from Bloor and Devonshire (near old Varsity Stadium). The parade continued along Bloor St.,down Yonge, and along Queen St ending at Nathan Phillips Square.

Today's parade was very successful. About 160 practitioners joined the parade. Even though the cold weather effected the instruments, the overall performance was the strongest amongst all the teams.

Surprisingly, many Chinese people were watching the parade. Many media like CBC, CityTV, Rogers and Radio 680, etc, were there.

The Tian Guo reporters interviewed the organizers, including the Chief Parade Marshall. All of them were very happy to seethe band and highly commended the performance. They said that they were amazed by the band and repeatedly asked the members to return next year. Many government officials, including Mayor David Miller, watched the parade on the stage.
