St.-Jean- Baptiste Day is an annual celebration held by Francophone communities in Canada every year on June 24. It is a provincial holiday in Quebec and a series of activities are planned.
One of the popular events is the St. Jean-Baptiste Day Parade in the city of Montreal. This year the parade kicked off at 6 pm and hundreds of spectators lined the streets in anticipation. Members of the Toronto branch of the Tian Guo Marching Band travelled six hours to join the Montreal band members and participate. The enthusiastic crowds gave the band a warm welcome.
