The Sound of Music Festival started out as a marching band parade in 1980. Now the annual event is the largest Free Music Festival in Canada and hosts bands from across North America.

On June 17, 2023 at 11 AM, the Grande Parade kicked off by the waterfront in Burlington. The Tian Guo Marching Band has been participating for several years and once again this year recived a warm welcome from the thousands of spectators lining the streets. People smiled, clapped, and cheered the band throughout the duration of the parade.
