The Richmond Hill Santa Claus Parade commenced at 6:00 P.M. on Saturday, November 18. The theme this year was "True North Strong and Free", celebrating Canada's 150th birthday. Despite the rain, excited audience members holding umbrellas lined the streets.

The crowds gave The Tian Guo Marching Band a warm welcome, cheering and clapping throughout their performance. After the parade many people gave positive comments and thanked the band for coming.
