The annual Sound of Music Parade kicked off in Burlington on Saturday, June 18 at 11:00 A.M. Marching bands from across Canada and the United States participated. The parade opened the largest free music festival in Canada. It attracts more than 220,000 people each year.
The crowds lining the streets gave the Tian Guo Marching Band an enthusiastic welcome, smiling, clapping after each performance and cheering them on. Mr. Scott Johnson, organizer and chair of the festival, stated, “They are very professional and we really like them. It’s wonderful to have them in the parade.”
