Cabbagetown Parade, Toronto, September 8, 2007

The annual Cabbagetown festival was held from September 7-9, 2007 in this historic section of Toronto. The festivities included arts and crafts displays, live theatre, a short film and video festival and an all day street party. Organizers predicted an attendance rate of 100,000.

This was the second year in a row that The Tian Guo Marching Band was invited to participate. On September 8, 2007, they marched in the Peoples Parade. The streets were lined with enthusiastic onlookers that smiled, cheered and took photos as soon as they heard the melodic tunes.

At the conclusion of the parade, the band performed on Parliament Street to an attentive audience. Two residents of Cabbagetown for 23 years, Mr. Doug Hurlbut and Ms. Susan Spierling, said that they love to see the Tian Guo Marching Band with their nice uniforms and music, and that they hope that they will return next year. Mr. Paul Dineen, Chair of the Cabbagetown Committee, stated that the band's performance was  excellent and great.
